The world is changing fast. Wars, climate shocks, power rivalries, and broken trust shape our daily headlines. In this turbulence, it is easy to feel powerless. Yet I believe that governance, when guided by vision and the right instruments, can still open paths toward peace.
This blog grows out of my book Dare We Hope? – Building Lasting Peace: A Swiss Ambassador’s Insight. But it is not only about the book. It is about putting ideas into practice. Each week, I will share one or two reflections on international developments—using the Global Governance Toolkit I developed during four decades of diplomacy.
My aim is simple: to show how we can interpret today’s crises more clearly, respond more wisely, and imagine solutions more boldly.
I warmly invite you not only to read, but also to react, question, and contribute. This should be a platform for exchange—a place where ideas meet, perspectives are challenged, and hope is tested against reality.
Together, let us explore the hardest question of our time: Dare we hope?
